Patrick Forbes is founder and CEO of Forbes Associates, which he established in early 2009 after ten years’ work in the Middle East.
Patrick is a seasoned communications professional with considerable experience in both Arabic and English, and has advised at head-of-state level in three Arab countries. As CEO of Forbes, he has provided communications counsel to a number of world leading entities in the media, legal, energy, education, corporate and financial sectors.
Clients have included the National Transitional Council of Libya, Qatar Foundation, Qatar National Bank, Commercial Bank of Qatar, Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority, Rothschild, and the World Gold Council.
Before founding Forbes Associates, Patrick worked for Bell Pottinger, the UK’s largest public relations company, and at the Arab-British Chamber of Commerce. As Director of Communications there, he worked closely with chambers of commerce, government ministries and the business media to promote trade and investment between the UK and Arab states.
Between 2002 and 2005, he worked as a researcher and speechwriter at the Royal Hashemite Court for HRH Prince Hassan bin Talal.
Passionate about entrepreneurship, Patrick is the President of the Qatar chapter of Entrepreneurs Organisation (EO) and a member of the Regional Council for EMEA. He is in his final year of the Entrepreneurial Masters Program, run jointly by EO and MIT.
Patrick has an MA (Hons) degree in Arabic and Islamic Studies from the University of Cambridge. His mother tongue is English; he is comfortable working in French and Arabic. He is based in Doha, Qatar, and travels firstname.lastname@example.org
